After leaving Kings College London in 1998 with a first class honours degree in Structural Literary Theory combined with the Visual Arts,

Robin developed a mode of colourful

Abstract Architectural Photography.

These images celebrate an interplay of colour, texture and perspective. Robin hand-printed them at large scale, using traditional colour

wet-darkroom techniques and mounted them for display on materials such as linen or board.

Since then, Robin has embraced the digital medium and has gradually moved into photographing representational subjects, often in a

way which entertains some of the fundamental aesthetic interests he developed in the abstract work. Starting with the natural world

as subject and more recently, photographing people living and working in their own environments. He has a particular interest in

the people and places of the Northern Highlands of Scotland.

Robin is also an accomplished musician, who has worked as a producer and composer over 15 years, working with individual artists,

composing for media music libraries, TV and Radio. He has done much work for the BBC as composer and sound effects engineer,

particularly for Children's and Education programmes.

In the early 2000's, Robin founded and managed an art publishing business, supplying art cards and posters to high street retail

outlets across the UK and abroad, achieving significant distribution levels through some prominent retailers. In recent years

Robin has left the world of the small business to concentrate on his work as a photographic artist.
